mode

In the regular season, the four teams played 18 games each. The first place after the regular season became champions. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a tie and zero points for a defeat.

Season course

Due to the low population and the associated average attendance, the Renfrew Creamery Kings had to withdraw from the NHA after two years. The biggest change this season was not in the NHA itself, but through the creation of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association , founded by brothers Frank and Lester Patrick , who once played in the NHA themselves. Due to their financial strength, several high-profile NHA players switched to the PCHA. The NHA season itself was very even and the First Quebec Bulldogs only separated four points from last-placed Canadiens de Montréal .
