The NRTL Betano (P212) is a patrol boat of the East Timorese Defense Forces , which was named after the East Timorese town of Betano . The Betano and her sister boat NRTL Jaco are the most modern boats in the country's navy and are stationed at the Hera naval base . Together they form the Jaco class. It is the Chinese Shanghai III class ( Type 062 I class gunboat ). The boats were built and delivered in 2010 by the Chinese company Poly Technology. The ship is christened and officially put into service on June 11th.

The Australian Navy landing craft Betano, which was decommissioned in 2012, was also named after the town of Betano .
