The NSU P6 is a car model based on the NSU Prinz, which was manufactured and sold by Nordex SA , based in Montevideo ( Uruguay ).

Model history

Nordex SA had previously manufactured the NSU Prinz 4 under license and sold it as the NSU P4. The new P6 model combined the engine and mechanics of the NSU model with an independent body completely redesigned by Carlos Sotomayor. The Corvair design was dispensed with in its design and a more modern hatchback body was drawn, which, in addition to the side air inlets for the rear engine, also had a dummy radiator. Only the double headlights and the rear lights indicate the relationship to the European NSU model.

This independent design was the first vehicle developed in Uruguay with a self-supporting body.

Around 400 copies of the P6 are said to have been produced.

At the Salón del Automóvil in Uruguay in 1970, the larger and more powerful successor model P10 was presented as the successor.
