The NSU P10 is a car model based on the NSU Prinz , which was manufactured and sold by Nordex SA based in Montevideo ( Uruguay ).
Model history
At the Salón del Automóvil in Uruguay in 1970, the P10 was presented as the successor to the NSU P6 . It had the larger engine of the NSU Prinz 1000 and a wheelbase that was 21 cm longer. Outwardly, this model is primarily recognizable by the split rear side window.
A prototype of this model had already been presented at NSU in May 1969. The impression of the driving behavior was "definitely positive", but the list of defects was quite long, including insufficient comfort, poor welded and soldered connections and insufficient sound insulation.
Production of the model was discontinued in 1971 without a successor. For the P6 and P10 together, Audi specifies a production figure of around 500 units. In comparison with another source for the production figures of the predecessor, around 100 vehicles of the P10 model would have been created. The example on display is still in the Audi Tradition collection in Neckarsulm, making it the only NSU produced by Nordex in Germany.
Two years after the end of production of the P10, Volkswagen do Brasil presented the VW Brasília, a vehicle whose basic design (hatchback, rear engine) corresponds to the NSU P10.
