The Nachtigal Peak is a 1,160 m high mountain in Georgia . It rises from a ridge that extends from the southeastern foothills of the Allardyce Range in a northerly direction. The mountain is located 6 km east of Nordenskjöld Peak on the western flank of the head end of Cook Glacier .
German scientists of the International Polar Year (1882–1883) descriptively named it the Little Spade . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee , however, named it in 1955 based on the neighboring Nachtigal Glacier . Its namesake is the German Africa explorer Gustav Nachtigal (1834–1885).
