The peribatodes secundaria ( Peribatodes secundaria ) is a butterfly ( moth ) from the family of the tensioner (Geometridae).
features
The moths reach a wingspan of 32 to 38 millimeters. They have gray and light brown structured wings, on the middle of which a dark, partially interrupted cross-band runs. A light spot can be seen near the outer edge of the wing in the middle (fringe area). The antennae of the males are strongly pinnate in contrast to the thread-like ones of the females.

Occurrence
The animals live in coniferous and mixed forests , especially at high altitudes.
Way of life
Flight and caterpillar times
The softwood bark tensioner forms a generation a year that flies from late June to early September. The caterpillars appear from August and overwinter.
Food of the caterpillars
The caterpillars eat the needles of spruce ( Picea abies ), pine ( Pinus spec.) And juniper ( Juniperus spec.).
