Nadezhda Nikolayevna Koschewerowa ( Russian Надежда Николаевна Кошеверова ; born September 10 . Jul / 23. September  1902 greg. In Saint Petersburg , †  22 February 1989 in Moscow ) was a Soviet film director of Russian origin.

Life

Koschewerowa attended drama school in Petrograd from 1923 and was then active as an actress at theaters in Leningrad. From 1925 to 1928 she studied at the "Factory of the Eccentric Actor" (FEKS). In 1929, Koschewerowa came to Lenfilm and worked, among other things, as assistant director to Grigori Kosinzew and Leonid Trauberg on Maxim's youth and Maxim's return of the Maxim trilogy. Her first own film as a director was the Maxim Gorky film adaptation Однажды осенью in 1937, which is considered lost. Her breakthrough came with the railroad comedy Blockstelle 145 , filmed in 1939 and filmed with Juri Musykant .

Koschewerowa's most successful directing field, however, was the fairy tale film. For the first time, she shot a fairy tale film alongside Michail Schapiro in 1944 with the Tchaikovsky film Slipper after the opera of the same name . The richly endowed fairy tale film Cinderella , in which she cast the 37-year-old Janina Scheimo in the lead role, is legendary . In the 1960s and 1970s in particular, various fairy tale films were made, some of which were also shown in theaters in the GDR. In addition, she made comedies and films for children, including And then came Bumbo, based on a story by Alexander Kuprin . Her last directorial work was in 1987 The fairy tale of the painter in love .
