The Naga-iwa Rock (from Japanese 長 岩 Naga-iwa , German for 'Long Rock' ) is a prominent rock promontory on the Crown Prince Olav Coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises 3 km east of Cape Akarui .
The rock was mapped and photographed by participants in the Japanese Antarctic expedition, which lasted from 1957 to 1962, and who also named it descriptively. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated this designation into English in 1968.
