Cape Akarui ( Norwegian Bjartodden ) is a rocky headland on the Crown Prince Olav Coast of Queen Maud Land in East Antarctica . It is located about 18 km northeast of Cape Omega .
It was mapped and photographed by participants in the Japanese Antarctic expedition, which lasted from 1957 to 1962, and who descriptively named it Akarui-misaki ( Japanese 明 る い 岬 , bright cape ).
