Breetz is an inhabited part of the municipality of Lenzen (Elbe) of the Lenzen-Elbtalaue office in the Prignitz district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is located seven kilometers west-northwest of Lenzen (Elbe) and 33 kilometers west-northwest of Perleberg , the seat of the Prignitz district. The neighboring towns are Alt Eldenburg in the north-east, Eldenburg and Seedorf in the east, Bäckern and Ziegelhof in the south-east, Mödlich in the south, Wootz , Rosendorf , Kietz , Unbesanders and Besendet in the south-west, Baarz and Gaarz in the west, and Polz in the north-west.

history

Around 1800 the place belonged to the Lenzen district of the province of Prignitz ; part of the Kurmark of the Mark Brandenburg . In a description of the Mark Brandenburg from 1804, the village was recorded with a size of six Hufen, 19 fireplaces and a total of 136 inhabitants. In the description of the condition, twelve whole farmers or hereditary owners, two kossäts, 13 residents as well as good soil and a fat pasture were named. The place, which was owned by the Eldenburg domain at the time, could be reached by post via the address Lenzen and the branch church here was part of the church in Seedorf, a mother church of the Lenzen Church Inspectorate.
