Mellen is an inhabited part of the municipality of the city of Lenzen (Elbe) of the Lenzen-Elbtalaue office in the Prignitz district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is ten kilometers northeast of Lenzen (Elbe). The neighboring towns are Seetz in the northeast, Dargardt in the east, Gosedahl and Boberow in the southeast, Rambow and Bochin in the southwest, Zuggelrade in the west and Steesow and Deibow in the northwest.

history

On October 26, 2003, the former municipality of Mellen was incorporated into the city of Lenzen (Elbe) and became an inhabited part of the municipality there.

Culture and sights

Village church

On the eastern outskirts and south of state road 13 in the direction of Karstädt, this lies between 3500 and 2800 BC. A megalithic stone grave in Mellen .

The village church of Mellen is located on the south side of Warnower Straße in the center of the village and has been included in the list of monuments of the state of Brandenburg.
