The large stone grave of Mellen is located in the Lenzen district of Mellen on the L 13 (Karstädter Straße) in Prignitz in the far north of Brandenburg and bears the Sprockhoff no. 453. The complex was built between 3500 and 2800 BC. BC as a megalithic system of the funnel beaker culture (TBK).

The north-east-south-west-oriented megalithic bed of the large stone grave , on the southern side of which all the stones of the enclosure are missing, is 22 meters long and eight meters wide. It is described as an "aisle-free passage grave". Ewald Schuldt (1914–1987) found such systems in Mecklenburg, which he called "portal graves" as an alternative, but this collides with the portal tombs of the British Isles , which are of a completely different design. In contrast, there are roughly identical systems in the province of Drenthe in the Netherlands , where they are referred to as "Portaalgraf".

Of the original six capstones, three still exist. Two of them fell into the chamber. Eight of the once twelve bearing stones still exist, some of which are not in situ . At the border, of which 17 stones are still preserved, the guard stones (at least the traces refer to this) were placed in such a way that the corner blocks protrude diagonally from the phalanx. The Mellen stone grave used to be just one of several in this area. All the rest were used for road or bridge construction.
