NaheTV is the broadcasting platform of the two OK-TVs from Bad Kreuznach and Idar-Oberstein . The program is designed by the citizens themselves and delivered by producer groups from the entire Nahe region. About 130,000 cable households are served. All citizens who live in the Nahe region can borrow technology free of charge and receive further training in seminars.

history

The Bad Kreuznach studio was founded in 2004, making it the youngest OK TV in all of Rhineland-Palatinate. Studio Bad Kreuznach has been based in the Brückenhaus over the Ellerbach in Mannheimer Straße 54 since May 2015.

The Idar-Oberstein studio was founded in 1996. It has been responsible for technical broadcasting since 2011. It has around 100 members, including companies and institutions.

Until September 1, 2011, the programs at the two locations in Bad Kreuznach and Idar-Oberstein ran separately from one another in terms of technology and content. In the course of a reform of the state media authority, the broadcasting area was enlarged and since then has encompassed the entire Nahe region and parts of the Hunsrück . Since then, the program can be seen "from the source to the mouth" and is shared by both sponsoring associations.

With the start of broadcasting of the new, large channel, the broadcasting platform was also renamed “NaheTV”. In the premises of the two local studios, citizens have the technical possibilities to produce their own contributions. Since the beginning of the broadcast, broadcasting has been managed and supervised on a voluntary basis. Thus, not only is the program created by citizens on a voluntary basis, but maintenance is also carried out by committed people. At both locations, young people organize themselves in a youth editorial team to produce films and programs together.

program

The nahTV program is made up of various individual elements. Local programs from Bad Kreuznach and Idar-Oberstein ("local time") as well as a supra-regional program are broadcast. This is also where productions from the exchange of broadcasts from all community media in Germany are shown.

In principle, the program can be designed by all citizens. There is no censorship or preselection of the contributions.

distribution

NaheTV broadcasts its program via the digital and analog regional cable network of Vodafone Kabel Deutschland . From a technical point of view, 130,000 households are thus reached - around half of all television connections in the broadcast region. Broadcasting via satellite is rejected by the state media authority for reasons of cost. NaheTV also streams its program live on the website. In addition, around two thirds of all broadcasts are published on YouTube.
