Local transport in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district
The transport in Darmstadt-Dieburg is from the Darmstadt-Dieburger transport organization organized (Dadina) and planned. DADINA orders the transport services from the individual companies. The central hubs in Darmstadt are Luisenplatz and Hauptbahnhof , from where the local, regional bus lines and trams as well as S-Bahn and trains depart from the Hbf. Most of the lines have regular traffic.
Line network
The S-Bahn in the Rhine-Main region are operated by DB Regio AG, the train services on lines 60 and 61 are provided by DB Regio AG on behalf of RMV, lines 64, 65 and 66 are provided by the VIAS GmbH operated on behalf of RMV. Line 75 is operated by HLB .
The tram lines in Darmstadt are operated by HEAG mobiTram GmbH & Co. KG.
The bus routes are operated by various bus companies: HEAG mobiBus GmbH and Co. KG (8N, A, AH, AIR, EB, F, G, H, K, L, N, NE, O, P, PE, R, U, WX, K50, K51, K52, WE4, WE3, WE1, WE2), Regionalverkehr Kurhessen GmbH (677), StadtLandBus (K55, K56, K57, K58, K85), Omnibusbetrieb Winzenhöler GmbH & Co. The AST lines (K43 to K48 and PF) are organized by the respective municipalities or cities.
With the reactivation of the Pfungstadtbahn in December 2011, Pfungstadt was connected to the rail network and can be reached by rail from Darmstadt in a very short time.

Future planning
- A tram to Weiterstadt has been under discussion for a long time . The first cost-benefit analysis showed a positive value for the construction of the tram. Nevertheless, the implementation is currently failing due to financial resources.
- The reactivation of the tram to Darmstadt Ostbahnhof was checked in 2009. A cost-benefit analysis should show more. This was postponed indefinitely.
