The regional traffic cure Hessen GmbH (RKH) was a transport operator of public transport . It was created in 1988 from the regional rail bus company Bahnbus Kurhessen and was a subsidiary of DB Stadtverkehr GmbH until December 31, 2010 . Towards the end it was part of the bus division of DB Regio . Since 2009 the RKH has operated under the name DB BAHN Regiobus Hessen .

The original traffic area comprised North Hesse , East Hesse and Central Hesse . On January 1, 2006, the Hessian part of Verkehrsgesellschaft Untermain (VU) was incorporated into the RKH due to the loss of tenders, which also added the Rhine-Main area and southern Hesse and the traffic area expanded to almost all of Hesse . Only the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis and Wiesbaden - which are served by Omnibusverkehr Rhein-Nahe GmbH (ORN) - and the Bergstraße district - which is served by Busverkehr Rhein-Neckar GmbH (BRN) are not part of the traffic area in Hesse.

Since the takeover, the company has had branches in Kassel , Korbach , Eschwege , Hanau and Weiterstadt . In the Hessian public transport competition from 2005, several line bundles were won by the DB Stadtverkehr competition subsidiary " Georg Schulmeyer GmbH Mörfelden-Walldorf ", whose sole shareholder is the Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH Untermain in Aschaffenburg. However, these lines were served exclusively with RKH vehicles. Since February 2011 Schulmeyer has been operating under the name “ DB Busverkehr Hessen GmbH” (BVH) based in Giessen , which has also been using its own vehicles since 2013. Most of these do not come from the RKH fleet.

On March 13, 2012, Deutsche Bahn announced that the RKH company was to be dissolved by 2016, and the premises of the Kassel branch have meanwhile been sold to Immovation AG. This is expected to build several hundred apartments on the site. With the timetable change in December 2016, the branches were closed as planned.

The BVH is not affected by the dissolution.

The RKH used minibuses, solo and articulated buses from MAN , Mercedes-Benz and Setra .
