Namdalen is a region in central Norway, in the north of Fylke Trøndelag . It includes the municipalities of Flatanger , Namsos , Nærøysund , Leka , Overhalla , Høylandet , Grong , Namsskogan , Røyrvik and Lierne .
A distinction is made between the outer Namdal ( Ytre Namdal ) and the inner Namdal ( Indre Namdal ).
The landscape does not have its own administration, but inter-municipal cooperation is being established.
The Namsen River , one of the best salmon waters in Europe, flows through the Namdalen Valley .
Before Hårfagre , Namdalen was one of Norway's minor kingdoms.
