The Namibia Rugby Union (NRU) is the umbrella organization of the Namibian rugby union and rugby seven clubs and organizes the Namibian national rugby union team and the local leagues.
In the same month of Namibia's independence , the association was founded in March 1990 and joined the International Rugby Board (since November 2014 World Rugby ).
The national stadium for rugby is the Hage Geingob Stadium in Windhoek . It holds 12,000 spectators.

The Namibian men's rugby seven team competed in the 1993 and 1997 rugby world championships . The greatest success was winning the George Sevens 2001 in George , South Africa . The aim is to qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics .
