The Hage Geingob Rugby Stadium ( English Hage Geingob Stadium , formerly National Rugby Stadium , English National Rugby Stadium ) is the largest Rugby - Stadium in Namibia and one of three National stadiums , but the only one for rugby. It is named after the third Namibian President Hage Geingob .
The stadium is located in the Olympia district , right next to the Independence Stadium , in the south of the capital Windhoek .
All matches of the Namibian national rugby union team are played in the Hage Geingob Stadium .
Ownership
Until August 25, 2011, the stadium was the largest privately owned stadium in the country ( Namibia Rugby Union ), but due to financial problems at the NRU, it was transferred to the state, which now pays for its maintenance and repair.
