The Namibia Tourism Board ( NTB ; German Namibian Tourist Office ) is the state tourism organization in Namibia . As an independent corporation under public law, it is affiliated to the Ministry of Environment and Tourism .
In addition to the main office in Windhoek , the NTB also has offices in Frankfurt am Main , Cape Town and Johannesburg (both South Africa ) and London ( Great Britain ).
tasks
With the enactment of the Namibia Tourism Board Act, 2000 (Act No. 21 of 2000) , the NTB was founded on April 2, 2001. The main tasks include:
- National and international marketing of Namibia as a tourist destination
- Registration and monitoring of the standards of all providers of tourism services
- Registration and evaluation of accommodations in Namibia ( e.g. on the basis of hotel stars )
- Promote the training of personnel in the tourism industry
- Promotion of the development of environmentally friendly tourist offers with the aim of long-term preservation of Namibian nature
