Nana Tanimura
Nana Tanimura ( Japanese 谷 村 奈南 , Tanimura Nana ; born September 10, 1987 in Sapporo ) is a Japanese singer of J-Pop . She began her career in 2007, when she signed her first recording deal with the music label Sonic Groove , an Avex Trax label .
life and career
Tanimura grew up in Osaka most of the time ; when she was three and eight, she and her family moved to different places such as Hawaii and Los Angeles . She attended Aoyama Gakuin University and successfully graduated in March 2010.
In her third year of high school, Tanimura got the attention of agents of some music producers through an event in Osaka. In 2007 she released her first singles on the Sonic Groove label . Among them were her debut single "Again" and her second single "Say Good-Bye". However, the singles only reached 55th and 105th place on the Oricon charts in Japan. Then she released the third single "Jungle Dance" on May 30, 2008, the single landed at number 15 on the Oricon charts in Japan for the first time in the first week and sold 6,551 times in the first week. The single was represented in the Japanese Oricon charts for 21 weeks and sold a total of 28,302 times in eight researched weeks. On August 13, 2008, she released her fourth single, which is called "If I'm Not the One / Sexy Senorita". This single was also able to build on the success of "Jungle Dance" and was even more successful. The single debuted at number 8 on the charts, sold 28,451 times in three out of nine weeks researched and is still her most successful record today. She reached the peak of her career on December 30, 2008, when she won a Japan Record Award for the song "Jungle Dance" at the fiftieth Japan Record Awards .
From 2007 to 2008 she also gave her own radio show "Nana Groove" in Japan.
In 2010 she was selected to sing the theme songs for the game Hokuto Musō . This was followed on March 23, 2010 by the seventh single "Far Away / Believe You", both songs were part of the title songs. On November 24, 2010, she released the single "Toxic", which had been outside the top 20 for a long time and debuted at number 39 and sold 4,965 times in three weeks. Since 2010 she has also been a member of the group "Fanta", she has is the main singer in the band. As a group member of the band Fanta , the band released the first download single on July 20, 2011, which is called "Fantastic Love". The band is primarily promoting the drink of the same name, Fanta, in the Japanese consumer market, so they are doing commercials for Fanta.
On August 10, 2011, she released her debut album as a compilation, the album has all eight singles released up to then and contained two new songs "Gimme Mo" and "My Way", for both songs there were also music videos. The album debuted at number 7 on the daily charts and ended up at number 15 at the end of the first week. For the album, she recorded the song "If I'm Not the One" in English, both language variants can be found on the album.
