The Nancyhalle (also Nancy-Halle ) is a listed former event hall in the fairground in Karlsruhe . Until 2013 the Nancyhalle belonged to the Karlsruhe Congress Center . The building, named after the Karlsruhe twin town Nancy , is located on the southwest corner of the fairground between the Black Forest Hall, the concert hall and the city garden . It was planned by Erich Schelling for a limited lifetime as an additional exhibition space on the occasion of the Federal Horticultural Show in 1967 and opened in 1966. There is now a great need for renovation. The Nancyhalle is listed as a whole with the Black Forest Hall. The glazed frame structure is built around two open courtyards with old trees. From 2004 to 2007 Luigi Colani presented an exhibition of his life's work in the Nancy Hall. The Nancyhalle is no longer used by the Kongress- und Messe-GmbH. At the end of 2011, the municipal council approved the use of the hall as a rehearsal center for the Badisches Staatstheater for a transition period of around seven to ten years.
