Pereskia weberiana is a species of plant in the genus Pereskia from the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet honors the French botanist Frédéric Albert Constantin Weber . Spanish common names are "Cervetano" and "Uturunku".

Pereskia weberiana grows shrubby , is often spread out or leaning to climbing and reaches heights of 1 to 3 meters. The brown, cracked and paper-like trunk has a diameter of up to 12 centimeters. The leaves are short stalked and vary in size. The elliptical to narrowly elliptical to lanceolate leaf blade is 2.5 to 6 inches long and 1 to 3 inches wide. The pink nerve of the leaf blade has two to four lateral nerves. The midrib protrudes from the underside of the leaf. The 2 to 3 millimeter areoles on the branches are sparsely covered with wool. Only thorns are formed on the trunk and main shoots . On the branches there are three to five spread, stiff thorns per areole that are 0.8 to 1.3 centimeters long. Up to 20 thorns are formed on each areole on the trunk and main shoots.

The pink or white flowers appear individually or are terminally in inflorescences. They reach a diameter of 1.7 to 2.5 centimeters. The spherical, hollow, juicy, glossy black fruits have a diameter of 7 millimeters and are 5 to 6 millimeters long.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Pereskia weberiana is widespread in the Bolivian departments of La Paz and Cochabamba in the catchment area of the Río Beni in the dry forests of the Andean valleys at altitudes of 1100 to 1900 meters.

It was first described in 1898 by Karl Moritz Schumann .

In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
