Nandyal is a city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh .

Nandyal is located in the Kurnool district 65 km southeast of the district capital Kurnool on the Kunderu River . Nandyal was founded in 1899. The city ( Nandyal Municipality ) had 212,640 inhabitants at the 2011 census; Ten years earlier it was 152,676.

Nandyal is on the national highway NH 18 (Kurnool– Kadapa ). The pilgrimage site of Mahanandi is located 15 km east of Nandyal.
