Ingrid M. Pawlowski

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ingrid M. Pawlowski , b. Matthies (born May 19, 1940 in Hanover ; † February 18, 2010 in Bordenau ), was a German artist ( painting , graphics , sculpture ).

Life

Growing up in Hanover , Ingrid Pawlowski studied painting and graphics at the Hanover School of Applied Arts from 1967 to 1970 as a student of Erich Wegner . During a study visit to Sicily from 1985 to 1986 she worked on the subject of sand masks. After marrying the engineer and designer Jacek R. Pawlowski in 1966, Ingrid M. Pawlowski moved her joint center of activity to Bordenau . In this congenial working group, she was able to develop freely in her artistic development and devote herself entirely to her work, as her husband provided the necessary economic conditions. For Ingrid Pawlowski it was more important to develop and complete a work than to be guided by commercial success. She lived according to her guiding principle "Art is my life, I can't go back, but I can still move forward."

In addition to painting, graphics and wall and room design, developments in the areas of sculpture , object processing and photography ... took up a lot of space. At times she taught at a public school. As the initiator, Ingrid M. Pawlowski was instrumental in founding the Kunstverein Neustadt am Rübenberge in 1984 .

The whereabouts of many of the artist's works is unclear, as she did not attach any importance to a corresponding bookkeeping. The estate managed by her husband in her studio consists of around 400 works of various kinds, the archiving of which has not yet been completed.
