The Corsaires de Nantes (official name: Nantes Atlantique Hockey Glace ) are a French ice hockey team from Nantes , which was founded in 1984 and has been playing in Division 1 , the second highest French ice hockey league, since 2013/14 .

history

Nantes Atlantique Hockey Glace was founded in 1984. During their first eight seasons, the team appeared in addition to one season in fourth-class Division 3 exclusively in third-class Division 2 . In the 1991/92 season, Nantes was promoted to Division 1 , due to a league reform and the increase in the top division , but the team even reached the march into National 1 (now known as Ligue Magnus). In the 1992/93 season , Nantes was only just able to secure relegation as the penultimate of the relegation round. In the following season there was another league reform, but this time to the disadvantage of Nantes that relegated to Division 1. In the period that followed, the team only played in Division 1 and Division 2. From 2002, Nantes competed in third-class Division 2 and, in 2013, made it to Division 1 as runner-up in this division.
