The 1992/93 season was the 71st season of Nationale 1 , the highest French ice hockey division . The Dragons de Rouen became champions for the third time in the club's history . The Diables Rouges de Valenciennes were relegated to the second division.

mode

In the first phase of the season the league was divided into two groups (North / South) with eight participants each. The first two of the two groups from the first phase of the season qualified for group N1A of the second phase of the season, whose participants then played off the champions in the playoffs. The teams in places 3 to 5 of the first phase of the season qualified for group N1B of the second phase of the season, whose participants then competed in playoffs for fifth place. The last three of the two groups from the first phase of the season had to compete in the second phase of the season in the group N1C to avoid relegation, with the last place in the group N1C relegated to the second division. Each team received two points for a win and zero points for a defeat.
