The 2001/02 season was the 80th season of the Elite Ligue , the top French ice hockey division . The Hockey Club de Reims became champions for the second time in the club's history .

In the main round, the seven teams played 36 games each. The first place in the main round was champion. For a win after regular playing time and overtime, each team received two points, for a draw and a defeat after overtime there was one point and for a defeat after regular time zero points.
