The Corsaires de Dunkerque (official name: Hockey sur glace Dunkerque , German: Dunkerque Eishockey ) are a French ice hockey team from Dunkerque , which was founded in 1970 and has been playing in Division 1 , the second highest French ice hockey league, since the 2010/11 season .
history
The team was founded in 1970. In the 1992/93 season , the Corsaires de Dunkerque took part for the first time in the highest French ice hockey league , in which they were represented several times in the following years, most recently in the 2004/05 season . After the team was subsequently transferred back to the third-class Division 2, they managed to win the championship title of Division 2 against the Lyon Hockey Club in the 2010/11 season and thus the promotion to the second-class Division 1 .
