Narcissus serotinus is a plant from the family of the Amaryllis (Amaryllidaceae). The botanist John W. Blanchard assigns this type of daffodil to the Serotini section.

Appearance

This species differs from the other types of daffodils in that it has an extremely small secondary crown. This is only 1 millimeter high and has a diameter of 2 millimeters. The color is ocher yellow to orange. The tepals , however, are up to 4 millimeters wide and 15 millimeters long and of a pure white color. The plant reaches a total height of up to 15 centimeters. The plant forms up to three flowers per inflorescence stem.

Distribution area

Narcissus serotinus is one of the very widespread types of daffodils. It can be found along the coasts of most of the Mediterranean.
