Natacha Rigobert (born October 7, 1980 in Curepipe ) is a Mauritian beach volleyball player .

Career

Rigobert came to France from Mauritius at the age of twenty to study at the University of Nice . She played as an indoor volleyball player at Racing Club de Villebon 91 . In 1997 she took part in the Club World Junior Championship in Poland. When Rigobert went on vacation back home in 2008, volleyball player Marjorie Nadal told her about an offer to play beach volleyball with Elodie Li Yuk Lo . Rigobert and Li Yuk Lo then met in France and agreed to play as a duo in the sand in the future. They made their first international appearance in the same year at the Kristiansand Open. In 2009 they completed their first Grand Slam in Klagenfurt and played at the open tournament in Stare Jabłonki . After a few more tournaments in 2010, they entered the 2011 World Cup in Rome , where they did not win a set. In 2012 they played five Grand Slams. At the Continental Cup of CAVB they qualified for the Olympic Games in London . There they met in the preliminary round against the German participants Katrin Holtwick and Ilka Semmler . Rigobert previously carried the flag for the Mauritian delegation at the opening ceremony .
