Natalie Ackermann (born April 16, 1980 in Düsseldorf ) is a German actress , presenter and former beauty queen .

Life

Natalie Ackermann comes from the Rhineland . Her father Rudolf Ackermann is German, her mother comes from Barranquilla , Colombia . Born in Düsseldorf, she grew up in the Meerbusch district of Büderich, bilingual with German and Spanish as her mother tongue. As a teenager she moved to Spain with her brother ; later both lived with their mother in Barranquilla on the Colombian Caribbean coast. There she won the title of "Señorita Atlántico" in a regional beauty contest in 2000.

In 2006 she was elected Miss Germany Universe ; previously she had won the Miss North Rhine-Westphalia election and qualified for the Miss Germany competition. After being elected Miss North Rhine-Westphalia, Ackermann, who originally wanted to become a doctor , broke off her medical studies at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf in 2006 to pursue a career as a model and her acting career. She represented Germany in the Miss Universe election in Los Angeles , but did not make it into the final of the top 10 participants. She came in 21st. In 2007 she represented Germany in the Miss Intercontinental election in the Bahamas and reached 3rd place. However, there were no job offers as a model or actress in Germany.

She then went to South America , where she worked as a presenter for the television channel Azteca TV . She moderated u. a. the TV show “Al Extremo” and the TV show “Juntas ni difuntas”, in which she interviewed politicians, athletes and actors.

Ackermann has been an actress since 2007. She took acting classes in Bogotá . Her acting career began with a supporting role in the successful Colombian telenovela Betty, la fea ( Betty, the ugly ), which was also adapted for German television under the title Verliebt in Berlin . In the soap Nuevo rico, nuevo pobre (2007/2008) she took on the role of Fabia Schultz. She embodied a deceitful lover of Austro-Colombian origin who spins an intrigue. She had a small role in the Colombian film Este huele mal . In 2009 she played the lead role in the Mexican feature film Más allá del deber ("Behind the Guilt"). In 2010 she was a forensic scientist Dr. Nichols made her Hollywood debut in the horror film The Tenant .
