Natalie Wormsbecher (born February 12, 1986 ) is a German comic artist . She lives in Berlin .

Career

From 1999 she experimented with the style of mangas , later she published her own dōjinshis on the Internet. In 2003 she won a book prize with the story Yumiko at the Manga Talents Competition at the Leipzig Book Fair. Two years later she published a short story in the anthology Manga Spot by the Animexx association . Robin followed in 2006 in the anthology Manga Fieber published by Tokyopop . In 2007 Tokyopop also released her single volume Summer Rain , and in 2008 the band Demonenjunge Lain . Between 2009 and 2011, Tokyopop released their five-part fantasy series Life Tree's Guardian .

In 2006 she began studying Japanese studies, but dropped out again in 2007 after one semester.

Until 2015 she worked as an editor at the Tokyopop publishing house in Hamburg . Wormsbecher is currently living in Berlin again and studying German literature and media studies.

Working method and style

Natalie Wormsbecher draws by hand. She uses pencil, pen, ink, ruler and grid foil, and colored pencils for coloring. Her stories are part of the Shōjo genre. She names Takeshi Obata as role models for the drawing style, and Miho Obana and Eiichirō Oda in particular have influenced her narrative style .
