Natalja Sergejewna Bobrowa , married Kudrjawzewa ( Russian: Наталья Сергеевна Боброва (Кудрявцева) , born August 24, 1978 in Novosibirsk ; died April 2, 2015 in Tel Aviv , Israel ) was a Russian gymnast .

life and career

Unlike many other successful Soviet gymnasts, Bobrowa was not discovered for gymnastics at an early age, but began training out of her own motivation. In 1993 she started for the Russian team at the Gymnastics World Championships in Birmingham , where she won a bronze medal on the floor. This was the first medal for Russia at gymnastics world championships after the collapse of the Soviet Union. In the all-around competition she reached 19th place.

In the following years she was plagued by several injuries. At the Russian Championships in 1994, she broke her arm while warming up, forcing her to take a seven-month injury break. At the 1995 World Championships in Sabae , Japan , she was part of the Russian team, but could not win a medal.

In the following years Bobrowa broke with the Russian national coach Leonid Arkajew , left his training group and returned to training in her Siberian homeland. Shortly after she was not nominated for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta , she ended her active career. In the following years she trained young children.

After receiving treatment for stomach cancer in Novosibirsk for a long time , Bobrowa moved to Israel in early 2015 to undergo further treatments. There she died shortly afterwards of her illness.
