Natalja Sergejewna Schljachtenko ( Russian: Наталья Сергеевна Шляхтенко , internationally used transcription: Natalia Shliakhtenko or Natalya Shlyakhtenko; born July 7, 1987 in Leningrad ) is a former Russian triathlete .

Career

Russian competitions

In the eight years from 2003 to 2010 Schljachtenko took part in 17 competitions of the International Triathlon Union (ITU) and achieved six top ten placements. At the age of 16, she already played her first European Cup in 2003 and was able to secure a 22nd place among the world elite (not junior class).

Natalja's older sisters Galina (19th) and Tanja (26th) also took part in the European Cup in Alanya, which was supposed to be Natalja's home triathlon. In the Russian Federation Schljachtenko had not later than their victory at the Junior Championships in 2004 her breakthrough in 2005 she defended that title successfully and also won the Russian University Championship for Technology and Design University of Saint Petersburg (Санкт-Петербургский государственный университет технологии и дизайна ), in the individual competition she won silver. In 2006 Natalja won the junior gold medal in Alanya. In 2008 and 2010 she finished in the top ten in the elite class.

In 2006, Schljachtenko took part in the first Russian Youth Spartakiad (Первая Летняя Спартакиада молодежи России) in Khanty-Mansiysk on August 2, 2006 and won gold, for which she was awarded a selective sports scholarship worth 60,000 rubles.

In 2008/09 and 2009/10 Schljachtenko also won the swimming championship at her university.

At the Russian Championship 2009 in Penza , Schljachtenko competed for her Saint Petersburg club Dinamo and was third in the U23 sprint competition and fourth in the Olympic distance (U23). In the team classification, she was fourth in the elite category. In the same year Schljachtenko was awarded the title Мастер срорта России. She narrowly missed two medals in the Asian Cup in 2009, but the top international field was missing in these competitions.

Also in 2009 Schljachtenko won the silver medal at the World Police and Fire Games in Canada on August 8, 2009 - she competed for the Russian Interior Ministry.

At the 2010 Russian Championship in Penza , Schljachtenko was third in the U23 category (Юниорки) in the Olympic distance, in the Russian Cup she came in second, although she had only participated in two of the seven competitions, and in the general Russian rankings (Рейтинг), which also takes international competitions into account, Schljachtenko appears in 7th place.

At the Russian Elite Aquathlon Championship 2011 Schljachtenko was sixth.

In 2010 Schljachtenko was signed by the Stade Poitevin Triathlon club for the French club championship Lyonnaise des Eaux . At the opening triathlon in Dunkirk on May 23, 2010 Schljachtenko was only 38th in the individual ranking, but was still the second best in her club. At the Triathlon de Paris Schljachtenko was 24. In the other three triathlons Inna Zyhanok took the place of Schljachtenko for the Stade Poitevin Triathlon , for 2011 Schljachtenko's name no longer appears among the D1 elite triathletes of this club.

In 2011 Schljachtenko again represented the Russian Interior Ministry at the World Police and Fire Games 2011, New York, and won a total of ten medals as a police officer (старший сержант полици) in various swimming and running disciplines for Russia.
In 2011 Schljachtenko no longer belongs to the Stade Poitevin Triathlon team, but she nevertheless took part in the Dunkirk triathlon (May 22, 2011) and replaced Holly Lawrence at short notice, although she was also not on the official start list. Schljachtenko was 33rd in the individual ranking and was again one of the three triathlètes classants l'équipe of their ex-club. It has not appeared internationally since 2011. She lives in Saint Petersburg with her husband and daughter.

Natalja's sister Galina Schljachtenko is a freediver known in Russia and internationally . In 2010 she was Russian runner-up.
