National Highway 4 is an important west-east trunk road in central Myanmar .

It connects the city of Meiktila in the Mandalay Division with Tachilek in Shan State . The highway begins near Meiktila, on National Highway 1 to Taunggyi , the capital of Shan State, and continues to Hopong . This is the junction to National Highway 5 . The main route then continues to Keng Tung and ends in Tachilek in the east of Myanmar on the border with Mae Sai in the Chiang Rai province in Thailand .

The trunk road belongs to the Asian Highway Network AH2 .
