National Soaring Museum

The National Soaring Museum (NSM) is an aviation museum in Elmira , New York , USA , dedicated to the history of gliding .

history

The museum was founded in 1969 on Harris Hill near Elmira. The site was chosen because of its proximity to the Swiss Aircraft Corporation and its importance for American gliding. From 1930 to 1946 13 national gliding competitions were held here.
