The National League A 2016/17 ( French League Nationale A ) was the 77th season of the top Swiss division in women's basketball . 9 teams took part in the championship.

Swiss champion was once again Hélios Basket , which secured their seventh title in a row.

mode

In the first phase, all nine teams play a first and second leg against each other in 16 games. Then the best five teams qualify for the final round, the other four teams play a classification round. In both cases there is only one game, taking the points from the qualifying round with you. Then the playoffs are played, qualifying for the best four participants in the final round. For the other league players the season is now over, there is no direct relegation this season.

The playoffs are decided in best-of-five mode.
