The Lower Saxony law on assistance and protective measures for the mentally ill is a state law in Lower Saxony .

It regulates assistance for people who are or have been sick or disabled as a result of a mental disorder or who have signs of such an illness or disability, and the accommodation of people who are sick or disabled in this sense.

In 2013, the forced medication was criticized by experts .

The new version was discussed in 2015.

There are six visiting commissions in the country.
