The Skoler Beskydy National Park ( Ukrainian Національний природний парк Сколівські бескиди Nazionalnyj pryrodnyj park Skoliwski Beskydy ) is a national park of Ukraine . It is located in the southern part of Lviv Oblast , mostly northwest of the eponymous city of Skole . The park extends through the Ukrainian Beskids (" Skoler Beskids "), alongside the Stryj River . The mountain range extends at an altitude of 600 to 1260 m.

history

From December 1914 to April 1915, the Carpathian Battle took place in the area , which became one of the most costly battles of the First World War. The mountain Zwinin , which was stormed in the process , is now in the middle of the park. The “Skoler Beskids” National Park was established on February 11, 1999 with the aim of preserving the fir and beech forests of the forest reserve.
