Zwinin

The Zwinin ( Ukrainian Дзвинів Dswyniw ; Russian Джвинув Dschwinuw , Polish Zwinin ) is a mountain ridge about 10 kilometers long and up to 1109 meters high. It is located in the Ukrainian part of the Forest Carpathians south of Stryj near the small town of Skole in the Lviv Oblast , in the eastern part of the Beskids near the Oblast border with Transcarpathia .

The massif is one of the deltas of Stryj and Opir the National Park Skoler Beskidy ( Національний природний парк Сколівські бескиди ) and is often climbed by tourists.

The mountains became known through the storming of the Zwinin from February 4 to April 9, 1915, in which the 992 meter high (Zwinin I) at the eastern end of the ridge was stormed by the 1st Division on April 9, 1915 .
