The backgrounds
Natalja Shevlyakova is the daughter of a Russian-Georgian couple. It was discovered and produced as nATo by Ivan Shapovalov, the producer of tATu .
Similar to tATu, Schapowalow relied on targeted provocation in his new project to increase awareness. NATO appeared as a " black widow ". Her face was covered by a black chador . She sang in Tajik , Persian and Uzbek . The first video shot only for the Russian market shows clear connections with the terrorist attacks in Russia. The video shown in Europe and worldwide, however, provoked with images from war zones in which child soldiers are used.
Her debut concert on September 11, 2004 in Moscow was announced as a “ terrorist act concert - a musical terrorist operation without any flirtation with the audience ” and was banned by the Russian government. In June 2005, Nato separated from Shapovalov.
With their first single Chor Javon ( Persian Čār ǧawān, Tajik Чор Ҷавон , Chor Dschawon - Four Young People ), composed by Muborakscho Mirsoschojew , hit the German charts in July 2005.
Well-known titles are Be Omīd ( without hope ) and Chor Javon ( 4 young people ). The text of the second song is an old folk song from Badakhshan . The song tells the story of four brothers who, despite their parents' warnings, want to hike over the mountains to hunt and all four are killed.
The language in which both songs are sung is Tajik Persian .
