Nattas ("Sattan" backwards) is a Swedish black and thrash metal band from Stockholm , which was founded in 1985, dissolved in 1993 and has been active again since 1999.

history

The band was formed in 1985. The members carried pseudonyms such as "Michael Motorcycle" or "Bob Thunder". After the group released the Decade of Decay , Tales from the Crypt, and Link demos , they broke up in 1993.

In 1999 the band got together again to record the demo Axiom , which was released in 1999 and which Born in Flames joined in 2000 . After the cast had changed due to the departure of guitarist Nick Nightmare, the demos Cast and Dominatorium appeared in 2000 . The group can also be heard on the samplers Metal Reigns Supreme , Beloved Apocalypse and Atomic Annihilation . In 2002, the group recorded the song Salvation with former Undercroft guitarist Koke, before an EP of the same name was released on Kuravilú Productions in 2003 . Then the drummer Nyström left the line-up and was replaced by Bevelius. After the completion of the debut album in February 2005, the guitarist Darkwing was replaced by Johan Murmester. The record was released in the same year on Agonia Records under the name At Ease with the Beast . In 2005 and 2006 the band toured Sweden and wrote their next album. In January 2007, the group began recording their second album, Inde Deus Abest , with King Diamond guitarist Mike Wead as co-producer. Simon Johansson also worked as a further producer . The record was released in 2007 and was mixed and mastered by Mike Wead. The digital release took place in 2010, but this was mixed by Fredrik Groth and mastered by Göran Finnberg .

style

According to Janne Stark in his book The Heaviest Encyclopedia of Swedish Hard Rock and Heavy Metal Ever! the band plays Thrash Metal in the style of Pantera with little Black Metal influences. Above all, the vocals are reminiscent of Phil Anselmo's . According to Twan from brutalism.com , the band plays a mix of Thrash and Black Metal. The music is Venom- style black metal and raw heavy metal mixed with rock 'n' roll influences, similar to Entombed . The guitarist Darkwing is a fan of Power Metal . In an interview with Twaz, Jonaz Bulund stated that the band has often been compared to groups like Venom, Entombed, Dissection , Mercyful Fate and Carcass . The band was heavily influenced by Black Sabbath and Venom. According to Yiannis Dafopoulos from metal-temple.com , the band on Inde Deus Abest plays a typical mixture of melodic black and thrash metal. Playing the drums is boring and relentless, the guitars are melodic and the vocals are aggressive.
