The Lindenhof Natural History Museum in Bayreuth is part of the Lindenhof Environmental Protection Information Center of the State Association for Bird Protection - Association for Species and Biotope Protection (LBV)

The former Aussiedlerhof is located on a former military training area in the south of the city of Bayreuth near the university and the new Hohlmühle housing estate. 17 hectares of former agricultural land are immediately adjacent. In cooperation with the City of Bayreuth, these areas were redesigned as natural wetlands to serve as a home for endangered species. Among other things, wetlands were created and extensive grazing by cattle , horses and sheep takes place .
