The Fischbacher Moos is a raised bog ; it is one of the moor areas of national importance (Protected Object No. 83) and is one of only two raised bogs in the canton of Aargau. The area of the Fischbacher Hochmoors is approx. 0.3 hectares. It represents the remainder of an originally larger moor landscape, which was largely destroyed in the 20th century by peat extraction .

Immediately next to the high moor on the northwest side is the "Fischbacher Moosweiher", a small lake , which is colloquially also called simply "Mösli". The surrounding area also forms a protected area, the approximately 7.8 hectare Fischbacher Moos nature reserve (protected object number 2769). The lake is 300 meters long and 100 meters wide and only a maximum of three meters deep. The hollow is likely to have been created by dead ice from the Reuss Glacier at the end of the last ice age. It owes its expansion to peat extraction. The lake and the surrounding wetland are a valuable biotope for amphibians and birds.

Footpaths lead through the high moor reserve and around the lake. The «Mösli» is a much-visited local recreation area. Fischenz im Moosweiher is owned by the local community of Fischbach-Göslikon.
