Grubenhalde Rhonard nature reserve

The Grubenhalde Rhonard nature reserve is a 1.16 hectare nature reserve east of Olpe in the Olpe district in North Rhine-Westphalia . In 1969 and 2005 the Arnsberg district government designated the area as an NSG.

Area description

The NSG is an old, culturally and historically significant ore mining site with pings , caves and funnels and rock heaps. On the carbonate-rich greywacke slate heaps there is herb vegetation that is valuable in terms of flora and fauna, with rare mosses, ferns and lichens.
