Kanwar Natwar Singh
Kanwar Natwar-Singh (born May 16, 1931 in the Indian state of Rajasthan ) is a former Indian politician of the Congress Party . From 2004 to 2005 he was his country's foreign minister in the first cabinet of Manmohan Singh . He was also a member of the 12th Lok Sabha .
Political career
In 2005, he was the first foreign minister in 15 years to visit neighboring Pakistan . On December 6, 2005, he was removed from office because of serious allegations of corruption by the Volcker Commission on the scandal surrounding the oil-for-food program and left Congress in 2008. Manmohan Singh took over his office .
