Naudo Rodriguez

Naudo Rodriguez is a Brazilian guitarist .

Life

Rodriguez started playing guitar at the age of five. He was part of a family of musicians, but did not attend music school. He taught himself to play the guitar by playing together with other musicians, which is why he has mastered different musical styles.

He worked with different music groups in Recife , Bahia and Rio de Janeiro , where he recorded the album Vento Norte with the group Karetas . The album reached number 1 on the Brazilian charts in 1982. In 1989 he crossed the Atlantic with his brother, who is also a musician. They worked in London for two years, where they turned to Afro-Brazilian music. In 1992 he made a tour through Spain with the Linea Continua orchestra , where he took part in the "Autumn Jazz" in Zamora and played with the saxophonist Quique Macias .

Since 1993 he lived in Tenerife , where he played jazz in clubs, hotels and cultural centers and took part as a guitarist on recordings by other artists. In 2002 he recorded the CD Alone with my guitar . He is part of the band Madeira Choro along with other Spanish musicians who devote themselves to Brazilian music .

His guitar is a semi-acoustic electric Alhambra .
