Navajo ( Navajo : Ni'iijíhí) is a village in the northwest of the US state New Mexico in McKinley County on the Navajo Nation Reservation .
Navajo is located on the border with the US state of Arizona on Red Lake . It has 2097 inhabitants, of whom 34.5% are unemployed. The area is 5.9 km². The nearest big city is Gallup , about 50 kilometers away as the crow flies.
