Rok Perko (born June 10, 1985 in Tržič ) is a former Slovenian ski racer . He specialized in the downhill and super-G disciplines and was a member of the Slovenian national ski team.
biography
His first FIS race contested Perko in January 2001. In February 2002 he took part in a Junior World Championship for the first time , but did not get beyond a 37th place in the downhill. A year later, he finished 15th at the Junior World Championships . From the 2003/04 season Perko was also in the European Cup at the start. At the Junior World Championships in 2004 , he finished fifth in the downhill. In the same year he won his first of nine Slovenian championship titles . At the Junior World Championship in Bardonecchia in 2005 , he won the gold medal in the downhill and the silver medal in the Super-G.
In the World Cup Perko since the 2004/05 season at the start. On February 3rd, 2006 he got his first World Cup points in the super combined of Chamonix with rank 29. The following year he took part in a world championship for the first time in Åre, Sweden , but remained without result. In the European Cup, the Slovenian won the downhill classification in the 2007/08 season with one victory and two further podium places. At the 2009 World Championships in Val-d'Isère , he finished 22nd and at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, 14th place in the downhill. At the 2011 World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , he was 19th in this discipline.
In the World Cup, his first two twelfth places remained in the downhill runs from Kvitfjell on March 7, 2009 and his best results on March 6, 2010, until he surprisingly achieved second place in the downhill run from Val Gardena on December 15, 2012 .
On June 10, 2018, he announced his retirement from current ski racing.
