Naz Aydemir (born August 14, 1990 in Istanbul ) is a Turkish volleyball player .

Career

Aydemir played exclusively for clubs in her hometown of Istanbul. From 2004 to 2009 the setter won the Turkish championship three times with Eczacıbaşı and the Turkish Cup in 2009. She played for Fenerbahçe from 2009 to 2012 and was twice national champion and once cup winner. She also won the Club World Cup in 2010 and the Champions League in 2012 . Aydemir worked for Vakıfbank from 2012 to 2018 . During this time she won the Turkish championship four times, the cup three times, the Champions League three times and the Club World Cup twice. After a baby break, Aydemir has been back at Fenerbahçe Istanbul since 2019.

Aydemir has also been active for the Turkish national team since 2008 . The highlights of her career were her participation in the 2012 Olympics in London (sixth place), victory at the 2015 European Games in Baku and three podium places at the European Championships ( third in 2011, third in 2017 , second in 2019 ).

Aydemir has received many awards as “Best Setter”.

Private

Aydemir has been married to basketball player Cenk Akyol since 2013 and has a son since 2018. The soccer player İlkay Gündoğan is Aydemir's cousin.
